Alternative Health
There are many holistic philosophies and a variety of alternative health options. By and far, more alternative health practitioners are being chosen to increase a person's overall health due to the tolerance our bodies have built up to antibiotics and other traditional prescribed medications. Finding a good practitioner is as easy as browsing the Yellow Pages.
Antioxidants and green tea are synonymous with health and a healthy life. We don't have to choose an over-the-counter medication for a cold or the flu; Echinacea works for colds and Ochoa root syrup soothes coughs. To keep sinuses flowing free, we can breathe in essential eucalyptus oils. Elixirs mixed with cohosh root, fennel seed and dandelion root help keep us healthy as we age. For stress and energy, Kava root, Ginkgo Biloba, and mixtures of orange, lavender and rosemary are available.
Fish oil supplements provide the essential fatty acids we need to help keep cholesterol low - especially for those who don't eat that much fish, or the right fish. And it would be remiss not to mention how much paraben-free and plant-based lotions and potions are much better for dry skin that needs to be hydrated during these cold winter months.
Though once thought of as "weird" ways to cure what ails you, this just isn't true anymore - why not jump on the bandwagon and try some of these holistic solutions?
